ODPM announces national marketing campaign to increase awareness and take-up of e-channels
The ODPM plans to launch a £4.6 million awareness campaign in early 2006, to drive take-up of local authority e-channels. The campaign will build on the work carried out by Norwich City Council for the e-citizen National Project. Full details of the campaigns are being finalised, and it has been confirmed that www.e-citizen.gov.uk will be the host site for all promotional materials, learning and market research associated with the campaign.
Norman Mellor, Head of Communications & Research at Norwich City Council, and Programme Director of e-citizen commented, "Over the last 18 months, e-citizen has worked with hundreds of local authority staff, planning designing and delivering a number of awareness raising proof of concept camapigns throughout England. The results have proved that targeted marketing communications campaigns have a significant impact on increasing take-up. This new national campaign is a bold step by the ODPM, and it puts marketing of e-channels right at the top of the Government's e-government agenda".
